Apparently Anthony Watts can’t remember to charge his electric vehicle every night. He would rather endure the effects of continued CO2 emissions and climate change. Bring on catastrophic wildfires, drought, floods, storms and deadly heat waves.
Renewables are becoming cheaper than fossil fuels. Watts is correct that the sun does go down at night. However somewhere on the great land and coastal waters of the United States strong wind is always blowing. In fact, some utilities in Texas give away electricity at night as so much is wind generated. With cheaper storage capability and a modern national electric grid, renewables will more than suffice. Let’s save fossil just for airplanes. And forget the good old boy gas fueled muscle cars.
