The first ethanol plant under PPP model will be established in Chhattisgarh for which the MoU was signed in the presence of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday.
The MoU was signed by Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory, Kawardha, and Chhattisgarh Distrillry Ltd ancillary unit NKG Biofuels for 30 years.
The Chief Minister on the occasion said it would pave the path for timely payment of sugarcane farmers and maximum utilisation of the sugar factory by establishing the ethanol plant. It will generate both direct and indirect employment.
It would put Chhattisgarh as a key ethanol production State.
Cooperative Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam said the investor will invest `100 crores for the ethanol plant of 40 kilo litre per day (KLPD) capacity. Only land will be provided for the construction.
