Iowa Soybean Group Sets Policy Priorities On Biodiesel And Taxes | Radio 570 WNAX – WNAX

Iowa Soybean Association members were busy this past week working on both state and national policy for their organization. President Jeff Jorgenson says they’re anxious to work with both their state legislators and with the new ag officials in Washington, DC.

He says they’re pleased Governor Reynolds wants to make sure B-11 is offered at gas pumps and they’re also concerned about what changes may be made to tax laws effecting agriculture.

Jorgenson says they want to see specifics of what Senate Ag Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow has for farmers and are highly anticipating the confirmation hearing set for former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack as Agriculture Secretary.

At their Tuesday meeting this week the Senate Ag Committee is scheduled to hold the confirmation hearing for Tom Vilsack as Agriculture Secretary.
