TABLE-U.S. generation of renewable fuel credits fell in January -EPA – Successful Farming

NEW YORK, Feb 18 (Reuters) – The United States generated
fewer renewable fuel blending credits in January than in
December, the Environmental Protection Agency said on Thursday. About 1.08 billion ethanol (D6) blending credits were
generated in January, down from 1.15 billion in December. About
300 million biodiesel (D4) blending credits were generated last
month, down from 447 million the month prior. The credits are used by oil refiners and importers to show
compliance with EPA-mandated ethanol blending quotas for
petroleum-based fuels. They are generated with every gallon of
biofuel produced. The following is a table of the credit generation for the
month of January by credit type. RINs Volume (Gal.) D3 4,442,298 4,442,298 D4 300,219,09 190,219,03 1 9 D5 19,415,774 12,580,794 D6 1,077,475, 1,075,130, 275 541 (Reporting by Stephanie Kelly; editing by Jonathan Oatis)
