LONDON (ICIS)–European consumption of used cooking oil methyl ester (UCOME) and hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) looks set to increase every year until 2030 following EU Renewable Energy Directive mandates (EU RED II).
The waste-based biodiesel grades – which have higher greenhouse gas emission savings properties compared to conventional crops-based biodiesel – can also be used as a feedstock to produce sustainable aviation fuel.
